Booker T no longer an in ring competitor!

0

Booker T has been WWE’s most valuable asset of the recent times. Whatever role WWE wanted him to portray, he did it with ease and executed the roles to perfection. In ring competitor? Check. Commentator? Check. General Manager? Check. Expert Panel committee? Check. There has been no role that Booker has not taken on being asked to fill in by the WWE.

Booker T recently sent out a tweet to the world this morning saying that he was officially retiring the ‘spinaroonie’. Booker often did the move in the middle of his matches, especially when he was on the verge of winning, or just for the fans’ delight. So, what does this mean? Going by the reactions, it means that Booker T has finally called the curtains on his decorated in ring career.

Over the years, Booker has held the WCW World Heavyweight Title, Unite States Championship, Intercontinental Championship, Tag Team Championship, and King of the Ring on one occasion. He has had memorable feuds with Stone Cold, John Cena as an individual competitor and formed an entertaining tag team with Goldust.

With him reducing to making an in ring appearance often to ‘help’ or ‘surprise’ during the royal rumble, his retirement seemed inevitable. Not only has he entered the other side of 40 recently, but he is no longer being advertised on the commentary team for either RAW or SmackDown Live. He is a part of the expert panel on pre shows and pay per views alongside Jerry the King Lawler.

While we’d definitely miss the spinaroonie’ during matches, we would still love to see the move whenever Booker makes an appearance. Given that a lot of superstars like Kane, RVD, HHH, CM Punk, Stephanie, Shane have tried their hand at the move, no one could recreate the magic of the original.

As fans, we would like to take this opportunity to thank Booker for his great dedicated service as an ring competitor and congratulate him on a well-deserved retirement from the ring! 5 time 5 time 5 time 5 time 5 time champ, you deserve it!
