The big game will be underway this Saturday at Old Trafford, as Arsenal travel to Manchester United for yet another classic Premiere League game.
Supporters from both sides will have one thing and only one thing in their mind. “WHO WILL HAVE THE BRAGGING RIGHTS”, as we know, often these big games are much more than league table positions and points. They are the heart and soul of a football fan.
As nostalgia strikes me, the memory of the very first football match I ever watched(co-incidentally between Man Utd vs. Arsenal) comes to my mind. It was love at first sight for me. As a young kid, I had never felt such a rush. The chants of “HENRY!! HENRY !! ”, “ROONEY!! ROONEY!!” still rings my ears. The Managers having a go at each other off the field. The players roughhousing each other on the field.
And the fans going mad trying to outdo the opponent fans at the cheering fest. The game was not only being played by the 22 players on the field….but had engulfed everyone off it. Without further romanticizing, let’s look at the current state of both the teams.
So Manchester United is coming to this game having drawn three, losing one and winning one in their last five games. Whereas arsenal’s form looks much better having won three and drawn two in their last five. Also the probable absence of key players in the United Ranks may give them trouble.
As many as six of their regular eleven are suspected to be sitting out due to injuries or suspensions. However arsenal is also facing a similar kind of situation with their Key Man Sanchez likely to be on the bench and as Wenger rightfully mentioned the absence of Carzola is showing in the creativity of their Midfield.
On top of that Man Utd Playing in front of their home fans, will give them a huge added advantage, also Mourinho has an impeccable record against Arsene Wenger being undefeated after 13 matches. All said and done you can’t really look at enough stats and determine the result of a game and that’s the beauty of it.
