Everything that this man says, is sure to raise a lot of eyebrows. After all, he is the advocate for one of the most dominant forces in professional wrestling today, Brock Lesnar. Whenever there is a mention of Brock Lesnar, there is a lot of enigmatic appeal associated with the athlete. He successfully made the transition from college football to pro wrestling, pro wrestling to mixed martial arts and back to pro wrestling, everything on his terms.
As a part of the promotional work for WWE 2k17 shot in the summer of 2017,an interview with both Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman was conducted by the Sun. This was even before there was talk of Bill Goldberg possibly making a return to the squared circle.
The first and only time the Rock and Lesnar had squared off against each other was back in 2002 at Summerslam, when Brock was officially christened the next big thing and the Rock was making the transition to Hollywood to pursue a full time acting career. Although there were plans for the two to square off against each other at numerous Wrestlemanias, especially after the Rock returned in a wrestling capacity to the company, nothing has fallen into place yet.
In the interview we are talking about, Paul Heyman had some specific words for the Rock when asked whether Brock was ready to take on the Rock at WrestleMania 33. He said that it is noticeable that The Rock has always picked up fights with Bray Wyatt or Rusev or John Cena, but has never picked up a fight with Lesnar. He turned the tables on the interviewer by asking whether the Rock was ready for Brock Lesnar.
This would be a match that would take excellent booking, given both of them are in unique positions. The match would probably be bigger than Hulk Hogan vs the Rock. Time will only tell how things turn out, and although it does not make sense to have two part timers go against each other, it would be entertaining the Rock and Paul Heyman engage in trash talk and tease the fans.
