Saina Nehwal and P V Sindhu: India’s two biggest hopes for Badminton gold at Rio 2016


Well some would call it luck or some would say she was destined to do so but whatever may be the case, the moment Saina Nehwal was awarded the Bronze medal every Indian was in awe. It was the first time when an Indian had claimed a medal in the badminton games at the Olympics.

It was a feat achieved four years ago and once again in Rio everybody will be hoping for the same from Saina to Claim a medal and the more optimistic people will also be looking for the change in color of the medal that Saina achieved in London but this time she is not the only one with the Burden of bringing an Olympic medal as because in the last few years India have seen rise of another badminton superstar in the name of P V Sindhu, another medal hope for India at Rio.

Saina Nehwal: A great talent but Injury Prone

There is no doubt that the Indian badminton queen on her day can tore apart any top badminton player in the world but the biggest obstacle that has halted the success of the Indian sensation is her fitness. She has found hard to be fully fit on many occasions and in recent time she also stated that if she has a real shot at a medal again but she has to be 100% fit.  The things have changed as between these four years she achieved many feats like being number one and she also looks completely fit for the  Olympics which makes it her best chance to claim a medal and who knows it turns out to be a gold.

P V Sindhu: A young star rising on the International scene

The 21-year-old has been on stupendous rise in last few years. This will be the first time she will be participating in the Olympics but her standout achievements cannot be ignored as she is back to back bronze medalist at the World Badminton Championship and will be looking to open her accounts for the Olympics too. The hard Working Badminton star could be surprise package for India at Rio.
