Update regarding the WWE statuses of Cesaro and Dolph Ziggler

0

There has been a lot of speculation about Cesaro and Ziggler’s current status with the WWE, given that their contracts are set to expire soon. Whether they would resign or not remains to be seen. For starters, Ziggler has challenged the Miz to a title vs career match at No Mercy, where the Miz will put his title on the line and Ziggler will put his career on the line.

Cesaro on the other hand ended up in a booking decision of ending the best of seven series against Sheamus by having the result of the deciding match as a double count out at Clash of Champions. As seen on RAW this week, he was paired with Sheamus and named as the new number one contenders to the New Day’s tag team championships.

Regarding their contracts, there have been a lot of conflicting reports and backstage rumors about their future. Both of them have been heavily underutilized by the booking team, although both of them are more than capable of making it on the main event status. They have the support of the fans and have the ability to produce great matches almost every time they are in the ring.

As expected, both the superstars have reportedly been frustrated with their status with the WWE. Cesaro had also expressed an interest in moving to SmackDown Live but there has been no update regarding the same.

Regarding Ziggler’s status, a report from the Wrestling Observer states that there are a lot of questions regarding his current WWE status and that he has only about a year or less on his deal. Despite this, he has been booked in the match against Miz. The current plan is to have Ziggler lose the match and have him take a long break before returning with a new gimmick.

Cesaro’s status on the other hand is complex. It is being said that his tag team booking with Sheamus is being done as a way to use him while not actually pushing him heading into the event, if he decides not to renew his contract. Instead, the team would be broken and Sheamus would be pushed.
