As a pro wrestling fan, one of the matches that we felt most left down with was the match between Goldberg and Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XX with Stone Cold Steve Austin as the guest referee. It was one of those rare occasions where even Stone Cold could not make the crowd seem interested with the moves in the ring. It had the ingredients for everything that makes for a badly booked match.
The only highlight of the match was when Stone Cold stunned both Goldberg and Brock Lesnar after the match.
Well, by the looks of things, it seems that Goldberg will eventually set foot in the ring at WrestleMania 33, getting his re match after 13 years. There are shots being fired from both Brock Lesnar and Goldberg with Goldberg laying out the smack on Lesnar in a recent interview. When the reported asked him what he thought about Brock’s T-shirt, Goldberg blew his nose with the T-shirt and signed off by saying that Brock Lesnar is next. There have also been instances where Brock publicly called out Goldberg and he also got a response from Goldberg.
Whenever a superstar falls out of favor with Vince and his company, the only way they make their way to the company after mending fences and doing what is best for business is through the video game covers. Don’t believe us? CM Punk, The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Sting.
All of them returned in the same way. Lesnar recently replaced Goldberg on the cover of the video game. For starters, if you had pre ordered the game, you would receive the one with Goldberg on the cover. Now, it was revealed that Lesnar was ‘finally’ placed on the cover. (Lesnar’s Facebook page had these words!)
While we cannot help but be excited by the way things are turning out, we just hope that WWE does not have a bad booking. There are very few in the pro wrestling world who can stand up against Brock, Goldberg being one of them. At 50 years old, he is one of the oldest superstars to make a comeback of sorts. Till its official, fingers crossed.
