Tonight’s show comes in from the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, CA. It is announced an hour before the show that for the first time, the main event of the night will be kicking off the show. Will this help WWE overcome their competition from the second presidential debate? Let’s see.
AJ Styles vs Dean Ambrose vs John Cena: AJ hits the phenomenal forearm on Cena in the early moments of the match, but Cena comes back with a double german suplex on both Styles and Ambrose. Cena goes for the AA on Styles, who avoids it and connects with a Pele kick. Cena goes for another AA, but Styles reverses it into a spinning power bomb for a near fall. Ambrose connects with a reverse power bomb on Styles for a two count. Cena throws Ambrose to the outside and tries to hit the five knuckle shuffle on Styles, but Ambrose comes back with an elbow off the top rope. Cena drops Ambrose with a back suplex and connects with the five knuckle shuffle on both Styles and Ambrose, for a two count. He connects with an AA on both and pins Ambrose for a two count. AJ hits the brain buster on Cena, following it up with a 450 splash on Ambrose for a near fall. Cena picks up both Styles and Ambrose for a double AA, but Styles escapes and hits Cena with a Pele kick, only to walk into a clothesline by Ambrose. Cena connects with a power bomb on Ambrose off the top. Cena goes for an AA on Styles but he counters it with a calf crusher. Ambrose breaks it up and puts Styles into a submission move of his own.
Cena puts AJ in the STFU and AJ taps out! The referee is confused as to who is the winner and proposes to have the match continue. Ambrose reverses an AA into a dirty deeds and pins Cena, but Styles pulls the referee to the outside. Cena comes back with an AA off the top rope on Ambrose, but AJ comes out of nowhere with a steel chair and attacks Cena. Styles pins Cena to pick up the win.
Nikki Bella vs Carmella: Carmella takes things to the outside early on. She targets the injured neck of Nikki. Once in the ring, she connects with a Bronco Buster and applies a headlock on Nikki. Nikki comes back with a spear and a springboard kick for a two count. Carmella retaliates with the Code of Silence, but Nikki reverses with a clothesline. Carmella puts in the Code of Silence again, but this time Nikki gets to the ropes, forcing Carmella to break the hold. Nikki hits a fireman’s carry modified into a neck breaker for the win.
Heath Slater and Rhyno vs the Usos: The Tag team titles are on the line. Rhyno starts things off with Jimmy. Slater is tagged in for a double clothesline. Slater hits a flying elbow, but Jimmy comes back with a clothesline and tags in Jey. Rhyno tags himself in and tries to hit the gore, but Jey moves at the last minute, allowing Rhyno go into the ring post. Rhyno with a spine buster, and tag is made to Slater, who hits a super kick, following it up with a neck breaker on Jey for a two count. Jey retaliates with a samoan drop for a two count. Jimmy tags himself in but is caught by Slater who power slams him. Jey is tagged who puts Slater in the Sunrise. Rhyno hits the gore on Jimmy on the outside. He comes into the ring and hits the clothesline on Jey forcing Jey to break the submission on Slater. Rhyno hits the gore on Jey for the win.
Baron Corbin vs Jack Swagger: Swagger takes control of the match after initial back and forth action between the two. He hits a back suplex and a splash for a near fall. He tries to hit the ankle lock but Corbin avoids and hits a side slam for a two count of his own. Swagger gets the ankle lock locked in eventually, but Corbin pokes Swagger in the eye to escape the hold, and Corbin follows it up with the End of Days for the win.
