Jericho resorts to his trump card of being from Canada, and says that he does not know anything about the US or the people here, but one thing for sure is that he’d be a better U.S. champion than Reigns. Jericho says that if he wanted, he could just take the U.S. title from Reigns tonight. Reigns accepts Jericho’s challenge and Foley makes it official.
Battle Royal: R-truth, Braun Strowman, Sheamus, Cesaro, Bo Dallas, Darren Young, Sami Zayn, Titus O’ Neil, Goldust, Curtis Axel, Neville and Jinder Mahal are penciled in to participate. R-Truth jumps on to Strowman’s back to choke him, but Strowman effortlessly throws him out of the ring. Strowman eliminates Bo with a clothesline. Cesaro, Sheamus and Zayn take turns in working on Strowman. Cesaro and Sheamus double team to eliminate Mahal. Sheamus follows it up by eliminating Darren Young. Strowman hits a splash on Cesaro and throws Axel outside. Zayn eliminates Titus with a big boot, and Cesaro throws Goldust out. Cesaro and Sheamus turn on each other as expected, and Cesaro throws Sheamus out. Immediately, Strowman eliminates Cesaro.
We are down to Neville, Zayn and Strowman. Strowman hits a big move on Neville and throws him out immediately. Zayn tries to get some offense but Strowman knocks it off with a splash. Strowman tries eliminating Zayn but he holds on in a weird way onto Strowman’s head. Zayn puts Strowman in a face lock and is almost able to get Strowman out, but Strowman overpowers Zayn and throws him out.
Backstage, the New Day are dressed as the Nation of Domination. They pay tributes to the members and maintain a minute of silence for Fransesca 2. They talk about being named as the captains for the RAW tag team for Survivor Series.
Rich Swan, Cedric Alexander and Lince Dorado vs Drew Gulak, Tony Neese and Daivari: Dorado gets offense on Daivari. Swan and Gulak get the respective tags and Swan connects with a hurrincanrana on Gulak. Neese and Alexander get the tags and Neese is in control. Daivari tags himself in and continues to work on Alexander.
Alexander hits a big boot to Daivari and tags in Swan. Neese tags himself in and hits a series of kicks. He hits a hurricanrana on Neese, following it up with a rolling thunder for a two count. Alexander and Dorado connect with suicide dives onto their opponent’s teams. Swan connects with a super kick on Neese, following it up with a roll up pin for the win.
Charlotte is out next, carried out by four guys dressed as an ancient Roman queen. Speaking of which, both Charlotte and Sasha Banks had great entrances at Hell in a Cell! I will not spoil the fun for you! Go watch it immediately for yourselves! Charlotte talks about creating history at the cell and talks about the women’s division on SmackDown Live. She says she does not want Bayley on the team as she feels she is the weakest link and asks Bayley to come down to the ring, so that she can address her to the face. Bayley comes out next and congratulates Charlotte on her match from last night. She says credit needs to be given where it is due. Charlotte says that to prove that Bayley is not the weakest link, Bayley has to face another member of Team RAW. Bayley says she’s tired of hearing Charlotte talking and asks who she would be facing. She asks if she would be facing her. Charlotte says instead of her, she is going to face Nia Jax.
Bayley vs Nia Jax: Typical David vs Goliath match here, according to me. Bayley goes for a waist lock, but Nia shakes it off. Bayley tries to go for the side head lock, but Nia shakes it off again. Nia misses with a clothesline. She hits a shoulder block. She throws Bayley across the ring and follows it up with an Irish whip. She hits a clothesline. Bayley bounces Nia’s head off the turnbuckle and whips her into the corner. Nia counters with a bear hug. Bayley tries to fight out with elbows. Bayley tries to apply her submission but fails. She hits punches and kicks, following it up with a drop kick.
Nia goes for a clothesline but misses. She hits a running knee, following it up with a bull dog and a shoulder tackle. She follows it up with a clothesline. Nia goes for a splash in the corner. Bayley tries to hit the belly to belly, but Nia hits a head butt. Nia throws Bayley into the barricade, rolls her back into the ring and hits a Samoan drop for the win.
Cesaro and Sheamus vs The Shining Stars: Looks like Sheamus and Cesaro are doing double duty tonight. They truly deserved to win at Hell in a Cell. The New Day although entertaining, are starting to become staid with the titles. Primo starts off things with Cesaro. He goes for a quick roll up on Cesaro, only for a one count. Cesaro calls for the Cesaro swing, but Primo gets to the ropes to block it. Primo tags in Epico and both take turns in working on Cesaro. Sheamus gets the tag and clears the ring. Primo tries to interfere, but Cesaro makes the save for his team. Sheamus locks in the clover leaf on Epico for the win.
Goldust and R-Truth are shown going to a haunted house in a footage from sometime earlier in the night.
Jericho and Owens talk backstage about how great it would be if Jericho could win the U.S. championship tonight, so that they can bring it to Canada. Jericho says that he needs Owens’ help tonight. Owens says that after seeing how Jericho had his back at Hell in a Cell and that is the least he could do and agrees to have his back in his match against Roman Reigns.
Chris Jericho vs Roman Reigns for the United States Championship: As announced, Kevin Owens is in Chris Jericho’s corner. Reigns is in control in the initial moments of the match, but Jericho regains control with a thumb to the eye, taking one out if Ric Flair’s play book. Both take turns in slapping each other, till Jericho connects with a drop kick on Reigns. Jericho goes on to the top, but Reigns blocks him.
Jericho is able to fight him off and hits a cross body splash. Reigns retaliates with right hands and clotheslines Jericho. Reigns throws Jericho twice into the barricade before throwing him back into the ring. The referee’s back is turned, and Owens attacks Reigns from behind and throws him into the barricade. Jericho takes control of the match and hits a back suplex for a near fall. Reigns retaliates with a clothesline and big boot, for a two count of his own. Reigns connects with samoan drop, only for a near fall.
He calls for the Superman punch, but misses. Jericho goes for the lionsault after a couple of right hands, but Reigns blocks it with knees to the chest of Jericho. Reigns calls for another Superman punch, but Jericho blocks it a second time as well. Jericho calls for the code breaker and goes for the submission, but Reigns is able to fight it off. Jericho now applies the Walls of Jericho but Reigns fights out of it, and fights off with a series of right hands. Reigns connects with a power bomb on Jericho for a near fall. Reigns goes for a Superman punch the third time, and this time Owens gets on to the apron to cause a distraction. Jericho rolls up Reigns from behind for a two count. Jericho goes to hit his springboard kick but Reigns connects with a superman punch mid-air. Reigns follows it up with a spear and goes for the pin, prompting Owens to get involved. Jericho and Owens double team on Reigns.
Owens throws Reigns off the ropes and throws him in the air, prompting Jericho to catch Reigns with a code breaker. Rollins runs in to make the save. Rollins hits a couple of suicide dives on Owens and hits a spring board onto Jericho. Rollins follows it up with a super kick and goes for the pedigree, but Owens pulls Jericho out of the ring. Rollins and Reigns stare down each other as Owens and Jericho make their way back into the back.
