WWE Monday Night RAW has not been the same post the draft split. Just when we thought that we would see a new side of things after Finn Balor won the Universal title, he got injured and had to surrender the title. Although Kevin Owens is doing a great job thus far, it is definitely not up to the mark.
Added to that the New Day has become more of a stale act now along with the United States Champion, Roman Reigns being forcefully shoved down our throats. SmackDown Live on the other hand has been able to produce better creative bookings. Apart from Bill Goldberg and Brock Lesnar, there is hardly any ‘bankable’ star on the roster, apart from the workhorse, Seth Rollins.
Currently, Owens is scheduled to defend his gold against Reigns at WWE Roadblock. According to reports coming in, it appears that Sami Zayn’s push will eventually culminate at WrestleMania 33. He is being considered to be added to a triple threat match featuring Kevin Owens and the returning Finn Balor.
Apparently although Zayn is being portrayed as ‘unworthy’ in his feud against Braun Strowman, it is just a matter of time when he would be pushed. This would help add a ‘shock’ factor.
Not long ago, we saw Daniel Bryan extending an invitation to Sami Zayn to come to the blue brand, SmackDown Live. However, with this news coming in, it appears those ideas are on the shelf now. Zayn has the unique capability to produce great moves in the ring, take some amazing shots in matches and also be portrayed as a pure baby face. Although his mic skills need some work, he is able to manage thus far.
Although it is too early to comment about WrestleMania, with the event’s plans taking shape only after the Royal Rumble, there is a chance to see Zayn pushed. Remember that the plans keep changing instantly, with a mere snap of the fingers from the Chairman. As always, please treat this report with a pinch of salt.
