We have to admit, this week’s articles have been full of news about the Undertaker. However, we cannot help it.
One of the biggest superstars returned to the WWE and inserted him as the leader of SmackDown Live and also added that he is no longer going to be defined by WrestleMania.
This has led to a lot of speculations about Taker’s status. Reports suggest that he is not going to have a full time role, but may have a meaty role with more TV appearances on SmackDown Live before the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania.
One thing that we could take out from Taker’s short, impressive and impactful ‘motivational’ speech in this week’s episode of SmackDown Live, it possibly means that team SmackDown Live would be on the losing end, due to some superstar costing the match for the team.
And looking between the lines, we have a gut feeling that the person is going to be the current WWE World champion, AJ Styles.
The rumor got stronger with reports of the Undertaker possibly having one last run with the World Title before he hangs up his boots. So, it appears only logical that it would be AJ Styles vs. the Undertaker at an upcoming pay per view, post TLC. There have been numerous rumors of the WWE playing it very simply.
AJ Styles has been in different places and was conquering other achievements while Taker single handedly carried SmackDown Live before he was supported by the likes of Edge, Eddie Guerrero, Batista and John Cena.
Going into the match with that mindset, AJ would possibly screw things up for the WWE and cost the match for the team, even though he is the captain of the team. That would lead to the Deadman going behind AJ Styles for costing the team a victory.
However, at this point, kudos to the WWE for not keeping anything pretty obvious and easy to figure out. Please remember, that these are rumors and treat the piece of news with a pinch of salt as always.
