Anil Kumble New Coach of Indian Cricket Team For Next One Year

BCCI today announced Anil Kumble as the chief coach for Indian cricket team for next one year till next year’s Champions Trophy 2017 to be played in England. The president and Honorable Secretary Ajay Shirke of BCCI made the announcement of new coach to the media today afternoon.

Anil Kumble said after getting selected for India’s coaching job :

It’s a great honor to be back in Indian dressing room. It’s a huge responsibility.

Total 57 applicants had applied for the Indian cricket Team chief coach job. BCCI committee consisting of Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar & VVS Laxman trimmed it down further for the interview-round where they had interviewed ten candidates for Indian cricket team coach job.

Anil Kumble piped Ravi Shastri who was also seen as main contender for the Indian chief coach job. Anil Kumble has also served as mentor in Indian Premier League for Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore teams.

BCCI chief Anurag Thakur told media that Ravi Shastri was very successful as Team Director. Board was happy and satisfied with him, but Anil Kumble has been finalised for the job and BCCI has also been very transparent when selection of coach was concerned. Thakur also said that we need more time to finalize the support staff for Anil Kumble.
