This is the follow up for news regarding Bill Goldberg’s rumored return to the WWE after a twelve year hiatus. For starters, the challenge was laid out by Paul Heyman who claimed that Goldberg was the only blot on Lesnar’s track record.
It is worth mentioning that Lesnar has lost a match against Goldberg before his departure. After his return, he has had more or less a 100% winning record, barring losses against Triple H and John Cena after his return. Lesnar has never been beaten clean since defeating the Undertaker at WrestleMania.
It only makes sense to have Lesnar go against Goldberg and reclaim his status. Goldberg on his part posted on his Twitter page and said that he was booking his flight tickets for RAW next week to answer Paul Heyman’s challenge. Although WWE has never confirmed Goldberg’s presence, there have been reports of him indeed making an appearance on next week’s RAW, potentially setting up a match between himself and Lesnar at Survivor Series and possibly leading to a rematch at WrestleMania next year. Please treat this bit of news with a pinch of salt, since we do not have any concrete evidence to support the claim.
Brock Lesnar on his part has been advertised for October 24th episode of RAW. This would possibly be to react to Goldberg’s recent call outs and taunts. The episode is scheduled to take place from the Target Center in Minneapolis, MN. It is worth mentioning that although Lesnar stays in Canada and despite being born in South Dakota, Lesnar has always been billed from Minnesota. As of this writing, we do not know what the agenda for Lesnar’s appearance is, or whether the match with Goldberg would even take place at Survivor Series. But if I had to stake a claim regarding the match, in the world of WWE, it is always never say never. We can keep our fingers crossed till then.
