ICC Hall of Fame: The first Sri Lankan to get inducted

Cricket governing body ICC finally unveiled the names that will be introduced in the prestigious Hall of Fame at the end of the year. The only man to take 800 wickets in test cricket, Muttiah Muralitharan is the standout introduction in the Hall of fame.

The two time Women World Cup Winner Karen Rolton is also introduced in the prestigious group followed by his Country mate and an “invincible” Arthur Morris. Englishman George Lohmann known for his feat to Claim 100 wickets in 16 Test matches completes the list. The names were selected with the help of poll and they were the four Players that received the maximum votes.

The first ever Sri Lankan Inductee

Muttiah Muralitharan, the Legendary spinner with over a 1000 wickets in his 19 year long International career has become the first ever player from his country to be inducted in the Hall of fame. This was a certainty regarding the feats he achieved during his International Cricket Career which were nothing short than spectacular. He holds an astounding 800 wickets in Test and 534 wickets in ODIs. He also claimed the most prestigious trophy International Cricket, World cup in 1996.

The “Invincible”

A player from the Don Bradman’s “Invincibles”, Arthur Morris was a stupendous batting talent known for his stylish and class apart batting style. He is touted as the greatest left-hander ever from an Australian side and his 12 hundreds in 46 test Matches explain his talents in thumping style.

The Fiery All rounder

Karen Rolton is the only name in the women’s Category and there is no one who doubts her inclusion. She was all rounder that led Australian Women’s twice to the world cup victory. She is only the sixth woman to be introduced in the Hall of fame.

Long time waiting but finally there  

The case of George Lohmann definitely explains this as because the feats he achieved during his career were bit closer to the heaven. He is a perfect role model for any bowler and the holds a record that is still not broken and no one looks closer to beat it.
