The Indian cricket team started the tour of West Indies positively in the warm up match by posting a total of 258 runs on board at the expense of three wickets in 93 overs. The Indian batsman showcased their form with patient and steady innings by the top three in the batting line up.
Rohit and Dhawan into the strides
The match started and the Indian skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to bat first and the openers proved that it was a correct decision by their skipper as they build their innings quite steadily. Both Dhawan and Rahul were cool and composed in order to show their preparation for the tour. Kl Rahul continued his fine run of from that he had in the Zimbabwe tour by playing some brilliant shot and looked quite good even though with the slow tempo and on the other hand Shikar Dhawan also played his inning cautiously at a slow rate and showed the signs of coming back into the form. Both the openers were able to register a 50 run mark and at the lunch the team looked quite closer to the 100 run mark without the loss of any wicket when Shikar retired after registering his fifty.
Kohli and Rahane departed quickly
After Shikar Dhawan put a rest to his inning, Pujara came into the match where he steadily build the inning with Rahul who also retired after his 50 when Virat Kohli came into bat where both the batsman looked calm with their scoring rate until Kohli was caught behind and Ajinkya Rahane coming after the wicket of Kohli also had a brief stint as he was out after facing 25 deliveries and scoring 5 runs.

Rohit shines
The two wickets in quick succession didn’t troubled the team at all when Rohit Sharma came into bat and was instrumental with the bat, leading to this Pujara retired and then Rohit and Saha formed a formidable partnership until Saha fell as the third wicket but that didn’t effected Rohit as he continued his knock with Amit Mishra and crossed the 50 run mark with ease and that was the end of the day and after that the position of Indian team looked strong.
