As revealed previously, WWE superstar hosted this week’s episode of the Saturday Night Live and it seems to have become a runaway hit with the fans. The ratings saw a spike after Cena’s episode and it proved that Cena could handle comedy after all after his brief role in the movie ‘Train Wreck’ alongside Amy Schumer.

As a part of the show, Cena was seen in three skits and made fun of a lot of people including the president elect of the United States, Donald Trump.

The best part of the episode was where Cena played Donald Trump. As of this writing, the NBC network has not yet posted the video.

Regarding Cena, it appears that he might never work a full time role in the WWE after all. WWE Hall of Famer noted on his official twitter handle that the prospect of Cena working a full time role is probably zero now given that he has been finding success outside the WWE with movies and hosting gigs.

Today happens to be the birthday of former WWE Superstar, Rey Mysterio. He turns 36 today. Today also happens to be the birthday of the current number one contender to AJ Styles’ World Championship (WWE calmly renamed the title to World Championship over the weekend), James Ellsworth. We wish Rey Mysterio and James Ellsworth a very happy birthday.

Relieve the highest moment of Rey Mysterio where he won the 2006 Royal Rumble and went on to win the World Heavyweight Championship in a triple threat match against Randy Orton and Kurt Angle.

We recently reported that WWE Hall of Famers, Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler and Lita were removed from the pre-show panels due to their contract expiring. PWInsider reported that Jerry Lawler openly spoke about the decision recently.

Jerry stated that he was removed as a cost-cutting measure and that the decision was made by WWE producer Kevin Dunn. He said that he had no problem with the decision and that Dunn is a top decision maker and that it made sense from a financial point-of-view.

Although Lita has been completely removed from the company at the moment, Jerry Lawler still has a legends contract with the WWE and will still continue to host special events for the WWE like the WWE’ annual celebration, the Hall of Fame. It is also worth mentioning that Jerry has a couple of things on his mind that he wants to work on after his current deal gets into place, including a WWE Network project detailing the history of Memphis wrestling.

Reports have emerged that the current top baby face, Roman Reigns might not win the Universal Title at WWE Roadblock after all. Please do remember that plans keep changing and that the current plan may change at the last minute. There have been other reports of his rumored opponent for WrestleMania 33 and it appears that the forerunner for the match is Braun Strowman.

Bill Goldberg has been added to the 23rd January 2017 episode of Monday Night Raw, which happens to be the go-home episode for the Royal Rumble. There has been no news about Lesnar’s availability for the event, but since it is the go home episode, it is just a matter of time till the beast is added to the card. Goldberg’s current contract stipulates him to have his stay through April of 2017.

WWE Hall of Famer, Booker T recently revealed that he would be running for the mayor of Houston in 2020. He claimed that wrestling has prepared him for life and that he is keen on contesting the elections.

Former WWE Superstar, Shad Gaspard of Cryme Tyme recently nailed a real-life takedown of an armed robber at a convenience store in Florida over the weekend. Reports have emerged that Shad held the robber to the ground till the cops arrived.

A recent report from Vice Sports claimed that Shane McMahon attempted a creative takeover after his triumphant return to the company for WrestleMania 32. According to the report, Shane set up a meeting with Vince in 2012, where he wanted to take over the creative and also brought in controversial writer, James Frey. Of course Vince turned down the idea and four years later, Shane made his comeback to the company only as an on screen character.
