2016 RIO HOCKEY INDIA V CANADA MATCH NEWS
Canada is lowest ranked team to qualify for the 2016 Rio Olympics Hockey Tournament and having lost their all matches, they will try to come back strong and play good hockey in their last league match against Team India. On the other hand, India will have a golden chance to score big and win this hockey match so as to play a lower ranked team from Group A in the knockout stage.
The higher we finish in the points table, the lesser ranked team will play with us from the other pool,” PR Sreejesh said.
A big win against Canada will give Indian team a much needed confidence before playing quarter final match on Sunday – 14 August 2016. Indian forwards with the likes of Akashdeep Singh, SV Sunil and Ramandeep Singh have to rise above occasion and play well. India got five of penalty corners in the last minute of match against Netherlands, but it failed to convert any of these. This is a concern which India will likely try to improve fast coming into other future matches.
PR Sreejesh and other team players have to group again and work as a unit to win a favorable draw in the next stage of the competition.
