The Indian athletes will be hoping to open the Indian medal tally at the Olympics with two of the biggest medal prospects for India will be in action tonight while the others will be hoping to proceed in their respective games.

Indian women archer Laxmirani Majhi will be in live action in the women individual’s knockouts in the round of 32. The Indian women team impressed after a lackluster performance in the ranking round on first day as they made their way into the group quarter finals.

Men’s competition: India vs Germany

This will be a one heck of an encounter which will truly test the medal credentials of the Indian men’s Hockey team as they will face favorites Germany in a group tie. The Indian team comes into the match with a decent victory over Ireland, but the German juggernaut will be tough to break and the Indian team will have to come into their best strides to beat the mighty Germans.

The Indian women’s will look to make their Olympic return after 36 years more memorable with a win over Great Britain. The Indian women’s shared the points against the Japanese side in the opening match, but their morals will be on the seventh sky after a stunning fight back against Japan.

The Indian fans will have huge hopes from the 10m Air Rifle competition as two of the best medal prospects at the Rio Olympics will be in action together. The only Individual Indian gold winner at the Olympics will be in action alongside London Olympics gold medalist Gagan Narang.
