Off late, there have been a certain set of superstars who are able to extract a positive cheer and appreciation from the crowd, irrespective of whether they portray a bad guy or good guy on screen. Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho, AJ Styles, Dean Ambrose and Brock Lesnar are the few superstars who have this particular charisma.
Previously, it was only the likes of the Undertaker, the Rock, Triple H and Stone Cold Steve Austin who commanded that power. These guys were loved more because of their promos and not much for their in ring talent. The current crop, however, are entertaining both on the mic and in the ring.
AJ Styles has been booked in the most powerful fashion. Barring a loss against Chris Jericho during the beginning, which was majorly for him to get to work with a ‘pro’ in the business. Off late, AJ has been playing the baddie to perfection on screen. Thanks to his amazing ring work, we cannot help but love him for what he does.
Styles is currently scheduled to be in a program with Dean Ambrose, followed by a program with John Cena, when Cena returns. There have been loud rumors of Cena being turned heel heading into WrestleMania, which means that there is a minute possibility of Styles being turned face soon. Currently, AJ is being billed as the ‘top heel’ on the blue brand and there seems to be no one to replace him as the top heel. According to a recently released report, WWE officials are tossing the idea of having Styles turning face heading into WrestleMania 33.
Examining the likely turn of events, it appears the trigger of a face turn would not be pulled till December, heading into the TLC pay per view, where it was announced on this week’s episode of Talking Smack that he would be defending his title against Dean Ambrose in a TLC match.
While it’s too early to comment about the development, as always, request our readers to treat the report with a pinch of salt.
