Virat Kohli First Indian Test Captain to Score Double century | Scores 200 runs vs West Indies

It was the tour of West Indies six years ago when Virat Kohli made his Test debut and today he has scored his maiden double century for India on the second day of the first test match against West Indies. The first double has taken time coming but there is little doubt there are many more on the way. Apart from this he is the first Indian to score 200 runs in test match outside Asia in 10 years.

At lunch day 2, Kohli scored 200 runs as India are on strong position with 404 on board with 4 wickets down in 119 overs. R Ashwin also completed his fifty and total partnership stand between these two is now 150 plus.

Kohli also broke Mohammad Azharuddin record of his 192 runs against New Zealand in Auckland in the year 1989-90 season.

Earlier today, Kohli started with an unbeaten 143 runs at stumps on Day 1 of first test match, and he picked up from where he left yesterday to complete his double century in 281 balls just 1 over before the lunch on Day two.
