A lot has been written about the Brock Lesnar and Randy Orton match at Summerslam. Then we had the news of Jericho confronting Lesnar which sent ripples across the professional wrestling community. One of the most intriguing aspects of the match endings was the interference from Shane McMahon. Although it appeared that he was caring for the safety of his brand’s superstar, it seems that there might be more to it. He was F5ed by Lesnar for no reason absolutely.
If this was not enough, Stephanie McMahon’s statement that she was really pained at what Lesnar did and that there would be repercussions for his actions and then proceeding to fine him a meagre 500$ as a penalty point fingers at a potential feud. While there is no confirmation, it is being said that the storyline would be built heading into the Royal Rumble, since that is the time Brock Lesnar is scheduled to return to the ring.
One theory is to have Shane McMahon fight the battle against the beast by himself. That way he can gain his revenge. However, there is also talk of having a match between Triple H and Shane McMahon at WrestleMania. So having Shane go up against Lesnar might not be a good idea. It is also worth mentioning that Shane currently does not have any creative control nor does he hold any executive position. He is signed with the WWE as an on screen performer.
Another theory is to have Shane McMahon have Bill Goldberg fight Brock on his behalf. Goldberg made a long awaited comeback to the WWE of sorts, in the form of the 2k17 video game.

All the superstars who have been featured on the video game have eventually made their comeback to the company, from Stone cold Steve Austin, The Rock, to Sting. Besides, with the WWE finally giving the fans the matches they want, it might happen.
Goldberg and Brock have both called out each other on multiple occasions and WWE would like to build on that, just the way they had Rock and John Cena go at it based on Cena calling out the Rock on multiple occasions during his time away from the WWE.
