Goldust and R Truth vs The Shining Stars: Mark Henry is at ringside, in Truth and Goldust’s corner, while Titus O’ Neil is in the Shining Stars’ corner. The Shining stars get a lot of offense early on and hit a double drop kick on Goldust for a two count. Goldust comes back with his spinning power slam. R Truth gets the tag and cleans house, following it up with spinning heel kick, splash and a spinning shoulder block on Primo, only for a two count. Truth goes for his bounce off the ropes, but Titus pulls the rope, dropping Truth to the outside.
Henry immediately gets into Titus’ face and they brawl. They knock Primo off the turnbuckle, who is setting up for a high flying maneuver. Goldust and R Truth hit a double face buster on Primo and pin him for the win. This here, is things done right with one of the good tag teams on the roster. Hope they are continued to be used, if not properly used.
Mick Foley is out next to host the contract signing for the first ever Women’s Hell in a cell match. During the pre-show, all the hosts, Lita, Booker T and Jerry ‘the King’ Lawler named Charlotte as their favorite heading into the match. Foley talks about great wrestling knowing no gender and that women can accomplish anything, like the Hell in a Cell match. Charlotte yells at Foley to hand her the contract, but he does not budge yet. He talks about the dangers of the WWE Hell in a Cell match and that they have no idea about what they are heading into. He talks with experience, ladies. Charlotte says she’s the only reason the Women’s championship means something and that she will go to hell and back in the match, and come out victorious.
All the three start yelling at each other, and Foley talks about the injuries he received during his match with the Undertaker and that they still hurt him till this day. Charlotte and Sasha sign their contracts.
Rich Swann vs Brian Kendrick: Swann starts off with a high flying segment and a dropkick. He follows it up with a somewhat modified version of the twisted plancha. Kendrick is now in control of the match. Swann is back in control with multiple clotheslines and a spin kick. Swann goes for a splash in the corner on Kendrick. Swann comes back with a hurricanrana following it up by a tiger bomb, only to get a near fall. Kendrick still does not give up. He tries to finish Swann off with the Sliced Bread but Swann rolls him out of nowhere to pick up the win. This is the third consecutive roll up finish of the night!
Kevin Owens talks about not caring about what anyone thinks and that all that matters is the Universal Championship and this Sunday, he says that he and Rollins are going to hell, but he is the only one coming back.
Brian Kendrick is seen talking to his former friend and the current Cruiserweight champion, TJ Perkins. Kendrick asks Perkins to lose in their match this Sunday and adds that this his last chance and it is a do or die for him. Perkins walks away in disgust.
Now is the moment we have all been waiting for. The beast incarnate, Brock Lesnar is out along with his advocate, Paul Heyman. Heyman starts off by saying that the Goldberg chants have begun to piss Lesnar off and adds that the myth will be like Humpty Dumpty after he is victimized by Brock Lesnar. This, here, is pure gold!
The crowd begins a ‘Suplex city’ chants, and a portion of the crowd starts a ‘Goldberg sucks’ chant. Lesnar also laughs. They walk back. This, is how you arrive, raise hell and leave, without even raising a finger.
Chris Jericho is happy that he found the list. Owens asks him whether he is ready for the match. Jericho says he is and also adds that he overheard what Owens said earlier and says that he knows that Owens did not mean it. No matter what happens tonight, they will still be best friends.
This happened before the Kendrick and Perkins segment.
Sami Zayn vs Brawn Strowman: Strawman gets on the mic and says he is still not happy and says he wants real competition and Sami is not. He addresses Foley, but Sami attacks him from behind. Sami slaps Strowman across the face. Sami runs on the outside and Strowman chases him. Sami rolls back into the ring and hits a drop kick, goes for the suicide dive, only to be caught by Strowman who throws him into the fan barricade. Ouch! That must have hurt! Strowman walks back and Sami recovers.
Ladies and gentlemen, it is now time for your main event:
Chris Jericho vs Kevin Owens vs Seth Rollins: Seth dominates the early moments of the match. Owens takes control with a running clothesline and a cannon ball. Rollins hits a landing knee. He follows it up with a running forearm. He goes for the pedigree, but Jericho counters and looks to lock in the walls of Jericho. He goes for a lionsault, but Rollins blocks. Owens argues with Rollins saying he cannot put Jericho in the pedigree, and Owens and Jericho double team and boot Rollins. Senton on Rollins. Owens pushes Rollins into Jericho, who hits a clothesline. Another two on one assault on Rollins. Rollins manages to send Owens to the outside and so is Jericho. Rollins hits a suicide dive on Owens to the outside. Rollins misses the frog splash. Jericho connects with the code breaker on Owens, Jericho and Owens team up and hit the cannon ball.
Jericho and Owens work together to put Rollins on the top rope, but Rollins counters and pins both Owens and Jericho for the win.
After the match, as expected, Rollins is attacked by Jericho and Owens. Security tries to separate them, but Rollins goes after Owens. Owens picks Rollins up and hits him with the power bomb, spine first into the apron as we end the show. I don’t think Jericho would be added to the Hell in a cell match, but you never know!
