WWE Rumors: James Ellsworth expected to enter the Royal Rumble 2017

One of the most recent famous jobbers of all time, has to be James Ellsworth. Not only did he increase his fan base, but he has added one of the most important qualifications of all time on his resume. He defeated AJ styles, who currently holds the WWE World Championship. Even though it was not a direct pin, the match ended in a disqualification.

Most of the WWE Universe got behind James Ellsworth and have been cheering for him. Added to that, there have been rumors that he might be added to the SmackDown Live roster and offered a contract. He is expected to be the next Hornswoggle, with the only difference being that he is actually a wrestler and will not be used only for promo segments and backstage moments; at least that’s what it seems now.

Banking on his slowly growing popularity and given the way how the WWE is pushing him, it is safe to say that he may enter the Royal Rumble next year. Royal Rumble is usually the most unpredictable night of the year, with many former wrestlers making their comeback, apart from unexpected amateurs receiving call ups to the main roster. It appears that the WWE is seriously considering adding Ellsworth to the Royal Rumble next year.

Speaking about Ellsworth, Ellsworth spoke about the response he received after his first match on RAW, against Braun Strowman. Although it was a very short squash match, Ellsworth was the first jobber, whom the WWE addressed by name. It appears that after the match, Jericho contacted him and also invited him to be on his podcast. Talking about Jericho, Ellsworth said that he has been instrumental in helping him hone his craft. They regularly text each other and Jericho is always ready to come forward with advice. He signed off the interview by saying that Chris Jericho is very helpful, really motivational and one of the nicest people on the roster.

We cannot help but be happy for Ellsworth, and wish him the best for his future with the WWE.
