WWE Rumors: Matt Hardy to make his return to the company after his TNA contract expires

0

One name that is a noticeable miss from the WWE’s recent programming where former talents have made their way back to the company, has been the Hardy boyz, Jeff and Matt Hardy. Although Jeff has always been the ‘talented’ brother from a wrestling standpoint, thanks to his daredevil moves and highly breathtaking moments in matches, it might be a while till we see Jeff back in the WWE. The reason?

His drug and alcohol related issues. He has already been suspended thrice during his time with the WWE and WWE would not want another liability if they do sign him. Besides, his contract with TNA is not expiring any time soon, as per reports.

This leaves the door open for a possible Matt Hardy return. His current contract is scheduled to expire in the spring of 2017. Although he did not create a mark for himself in TNA, his recent gimmick helped him improve his persona and skills likewise. It is being said that WWE has been sending out feelers to Matt ever since his gimmick elevated him to new found heights.

According to Wrestling Inc. Triple H has been impressed with Hardy and has expressed interest in signing Matt Hardy.

Also, having Hardy signed with the company would help bolster the ratings, especially when many former superstars have been declining offers for a return. Dave Meltzer however feels that a full time WWE schedule may not be suitable for Hardy’s body and with age being a factor, unless something drastically changes, Matt may not be returning. It is worth noting that WWE has granted part time schedules to superstars, and also certain gimmick changes based on their personalities. Although Matt may not be on the same page as bigger draws like the Rock or Brock Lesnar, he would definitely be able to grab the eyeballs of a regular WWE fan.

Also, his presence would help bolster the cruiser weight, tag team or middle weight division as he perfectly fits in all the roles. He has held the tag titles, the Cruiser Weight title and also the United States title during his singles run. Time will only tell about Hardy’s future and as always, we request our users to treat this as a rumor as of now.
