This week’s episode of WWE SmackDown Live comes in from the Prudential Center, in Newark, NJ.

We start things off with Dean Ambrose, who is obviously not in a good mood from last week. He calls out James Ellsworth. Ambrose gets into Ellsworth’s face, who profusely apologizes for what transpired during Ambrose’s title match last week. AJ immediately interrupts and says that Dean is just using Ellsworth. AJ says that he respects Ellsworth more than Ambrose does. Ambrose cuts off AJ and says that he respects Ellsworth because he does not take the cheap, easy way like AJ does. Ellsworth tries to stop AJ and Dean from fighting.

AJ pushes Ellsworth out of the way and connects with a kick to the head of Ambrose. AJ throws Ellsworth out of the ring and follows it up with a phenomenal fore arm on Ambrose.

We are shown a package of the feud between Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton and how Orton turned on Kane last week. It is announced that Randy Orton would be facing off against Kane in a match.

Backstage, Dean Ambrose is yelling at Ellsworth. Poor guy. Daniel Bryan walks in and asks Ambrose to calm down. He says he is going to give Ambrose his rematch against AJ tonight and warns Ellsworth to stay away from the match and asks him not to interfere.

Randy Orton vs Kane: It is announced that this would be a no disqualification match. Immediately after the bell rings, both start brawling outside. Kane hits a steel chair to Orton’s back and throws him back into the ring. Kane calls for the choke slam, but the lights go out. When the lights re appear, the Wyatt family interfere. Kane fights them off; but the distraction allows Orton to hit the RKO on Kane for the win.

After the match, Luke Harper attacks Kane. Harper and Orton push Kane into Bray who hits a sister Abigail. Orton, Bray and Harper celebrate in the ring.

Alexa Bliss, Carmella vs Becky Lynch and Nikki Bella: There is back and forth action in the initial moments.

Becky and Carmella get the tags for their respective teams. Becky hits a T-bone suplex and quickly goes for the pin. Alexa is able to break off the pin. She tags herself into the match. Becky hits a suplex on Alexa and goes for the pin, but the referee is distracted by Carmella. Becky goes to confront Carmella and walks in to a DDT from Alexa, who pins her for the win.

Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan are talking about who would be the leader for the women’s team at Survivor Series. This is a follow up to Alexa and Carmella trash talking the other women of SmackDown Live after their tag match. Daniel Bryan wants Becky Lynch to lead the team, and Shane likes the idea. Natalya walks in and volunteers to be the captain. Shane also thinks Natalya would be a good fit to lead the team and convinces Bryan. Bryan makes it official that Natalya would be the official coach for the SmackDown Live women’s team at Survivor Series.

American Alpha vs the Spirit Squad: Spirit squad gain the upper hand briefly, but Jordan gets the tag and cleans house and swings the momentum back in American Alpha’s favor. He hits a couple of suplexes, calls for a spear in the corner on Kenny, but misses. Gable and Mikey get the respective tags and Gable throws Kenny outside the ring. Gable and Jordan hit the grand amplitude on Mikey for the win.

The Miz and his wife, Maryse are out next. They bring out Daniel Bryan as the host on Miz TV Bryan starts off by saying that he plans to cancel the Miz TV much to the delight of the audience. Miz asks about the team for SmackDown Live for Survivor Series. Bryan says that from SmackDown, it would be Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt, Baron Corbin, Dean Ambrose and AJ Styles would be participating. The Miz is angry that not only did he not make the cut for the team, but he was also not considered to lead the team. Bryan says he did consider the Miz, but he preferred someone who would be ready to fight.
