One of the most prominent exclusions from the recent draft picks was the highest paid actor in the world today and part time superstar of the WWE, the Rock. We last saw the Rock at WrestleMania 32 and as fans cannot wait to be electrified again.
WWE is currently teasing more matches for the Rock, in time for WrestleMania 33, given that next year’s WrestleMania is going to take place at Orlando, Florida. Given that the Rock lives in Miami, we might expect something else in addition to the Rock cutting a promo. On WWE’s part, they have published a video naming the current hottest free agents on the WWE roster. These are the superstars who were not a part of the draft pick. For the Rock’s addition to the list, WWE claimed that his in-ring career was far from over.
At WrestleMania 33, he defeated Erick Rowan in record breaking time, proving that his in ring career is far from over. Although he is a certified future hall of famer, there is definitely something left for him to achieve before entering the hall of fame. PW Mania is reporting that the Rock is expected to have a full-fledged role in the storylines for WrestleMania this year.
The Rock has been involved in a verbal spat with his Fast and Furious co-star Vin Diesel. Rumors have been surfacing that he is the initiator for the idea, expecting the spat to bring a lot of unpredictability heading into WrestleMania. The inner feeling is that the feud would get even more intense heading into WrestleMania, with the fans expecting a clash between both of them at WrestleMania. In a way, this would be beneficial for both the parties, the movie, Fast and Furious 8 and the WWE as it would help attract more eyeballs than the regular pro wrestling audience.
Irrespective of what role the Rock plays at WrestleMania, we as the WWE universe cannot wait to see the great one back in the ring, talking smack, laying the smack down on opponents and raising the eyebrow. As the Rock would say, ‘It doesn’t matter in which capacity the Rock is involved at WrestleMania’, as long as he is on the card.
